And all my days are trances,
And all my nightly dreams
Are where thy grey eye glances,
And where thy footstep gleams--
In what ethereal dances,
By what eternal streams.
just as we all are gypsies of a sort in this life - in this world, so, too, we are in that other world - the dream world - the place where we are free to travel to places known or places unknown - free to travel far and wide - travel without fear - without trepidation - because just as we individually create our reality world, so do we each create our dream world -
Jung, on dreams, in his "ubergang":
a small hidden door to the most deep hidden and secret corners of the psyche, an entrance to the cosmic night, which was the psyche before there was any trace of an ‘ego’-consciousness:
and what will remain the psyche, no matter how far our ‘ego’-consciousness might stretch itself…
all consciousness acts to divide, but in our dreams we take the form of a more universal, true and eternal man who wanders through the darkness of the primal night.
There he is still the whole man, and this wholeness is in him, not distinguishable from nature and devoid of any ego-consciousness.
From this all unifying depth the dream arises; no matter how childish, grotesque or immoral the dream might be."

I love your Poe mood these days, Gypsywoman. I've been reading lots of Poe, lately. There's something about the combination of fall weather and Poe that is just intoxicating. Beautiful image, too! Thanks for bringing these lovely dreams to us!

yes, i have been in a poe mood which i realized just today, as a matter of fact - there is something so supremely divine about the rhythm of his words! LOVE THEM! definitely a weather thing, too!
Another fantastic image. I suppose we're going to learn that you have actually painted or photographed all of these becausew you don't need to sleep!
Lovely image to adorn the Poe mood.
The contrast in the image makes it amazing. Ghostly words, well done... -J
oh, trish! no, i didn't create these particular images -
:)
however.....oh, that's another story another day!
:)
thanks so much susan deborah! yeah, this image just SCREAMS poe, don't you think?
hey lady J - thanks for coming by - i was thrilled to find an image that just totally perfectly fit this verse!
Oh the mood is deliciously dark. I can so relate to the first line. Many times I feel this way....I call it robotic mode.
"In what ethereal dances,
By what eternal streams." ~ this is wonderful. I can envision Paradise Lost within those lines.
yes, the words i think cannot help but stir us all - well, those of us with hearts :)
beautiful moving wordpictures!
I think She Poet would be functioning on the spiritual right hand side brain circuit when she enters her *robotic mode* and leaves behind the "basic activities of human existence."
so glad you made it over this way, trevor! i've been checking your place for the always beautiful images! have a wonderful remainder of the evening!
The image is perfect. I love this. I have a thing for old, dead trees as well, so that just added to the experience for me. Thank you, GYPSYWOMAN!
Much Love,
Deborah
